Sport for Development: What are we developing?

Join the UK Sport Development Network on 11 and 12 July to discuss key issues affecting the sport for development and community sport sectors.

Thu, 07/11/2019 to Fri, 07/12/2019

United Kingdom

The conference will provide a platform for exploring contemporary topics in globally challenging areas such crime, obesity, mental health, BAME engagement etc. It will bring together academic researchers with practitioners and influencers, policy makers, funders and wider stakeholders who aspire to achieve social impact by using sport, play and physical activity. We are open for abstract submissions until 30 April 2019 from researchers and practitioners working in the this field.

The organising committee would welcome submissions themed around the following areas to build this year’s programme:

  • Sport for Personal Development
  • Sport for Inclusion
  • Sport for Gender equality
  • Sport for Lifelong Learning and Employment
  • Sport for Physical Well-being
  • Sport for Mental Health
  • Sport for Policy Development
  • Sport for Economic Development
  • Sport for Peace Building
  • Sport for Cohesion and Integration
  • Sport for Healthier Ageing
  • Sport for Crime and Antisocial Behaviour Prevention

This will be the 9th consecutive UK Sport For Development conference and we hope to make it the biggest yet with over 200 delegate spaces available.

For the latest news and information on the conference, follow #UKSDN2019 or join our main network Twitter feed @UKSDN.

We look forward to welcoming you to South London and what will be a thought provoking two days.
