The Sport for Social Change Network Children’s Sports Day and Forum

A youth sports day and stakeholders' forum in Lusaka, Zambia.

The Sport for Social Change Network (SSCN) Zambia Chapter will be holding a youth sports day and stakeholders' forum on Friday 2 August 2013 at the Barclays Sports Complex in Lusaka. The participants for the youth sports event will be drawn from sport and development organisations that make up the Sport for Social Change Network Zambia Chapter.

The Sports for Social Change Network is comprised of organisations based in Zambia that use the power of sport to contribute to positive social change. The event will use movement games that integrate education and awareness on issues that affect children, with a focus on children’s rights.

The second part of the programme is a stakeholder’s forum to share the work we do and to engage on issues affecting children’s access to sport and opportunities for future cooperation.The objectives of the stakeholders forum will include-

To provide a platform for the SSCN Zambia members to interact with sports stakeholders
To raise awareness about SSCN Zambia among the sport community
To demonstrate to the stakeholders the concept of sport for social change
To facilitate joint action and collaboration among the SSCN network members in Zambia

The two events will bring together 100 children and youth from SSCN Zambia as well as 30 stakeholders.
