SPORTEL Awards 2016

Peace and Sport have announced they will be once again partnering with the SPORTEL Awards to sponsor the SPORTEL Documentary Prize. This award is in recognition of a filmmaker who has been able to communicate the positive role that sport can play in development. The award ceremony takes place in Monaco on 25 October 2016, with the winning video being show to delegates at the Peace and Sport International Forum on 25 November 2016.

The SPORTEL Conference is an event for the sports marketing and media industry, culminating in the award ceremony being held in the Principality of Monaco. The 2015 winner of the Documentary Prize was Marion Poizeau, for the documentary Into the Sea. This film shows how three women worked toward introducing surfing in Iran as a way of breaking down barriers and bridging cultural and gender divides.
