An interactive webinar focusing on the role of sport enterprises and entrepreneurs in promoting social change.

The social role of sports enterprises is being increasingly recognized at both local and global levels. Sports can influence community cohesion, physical and mental health, social inclusivity, and provide positive role models across society. All these goals can be achieved only through building functioning and efficient organizations, adjusted to specific environments. Entrepreneurs and athletes are similar in many ways. They all have passion, tenacity, vision, self- confidence, flexibility, boldness, tolerance for fear, among other characteristics. While generosity and idealism are the main engines of most sports’ social entrepreneurs, bottom line is, in many cases, economic and practical. The webinar will address a number of issues, such as the following questions:

• What does it take to build sustainable grassroot sports organizations?
• How to gather resources and attract support for social enterprises?
• Can local governments, politicians, professional clubs, or other influencers help?
• How to build community support?
• Are setbacks building blocks towards success?
• Is it possible to make a living, while pursuing a passion for sports and social action?

The webinar will take place between on 6 August from 10:00-11:30 EST via Zoom. Click here to register!
