Join Sport for Development Coalition to review progress and set priorities on collective action at its ‘Spotlight on 2022’ Online Forum.

When: 28 January, 10.00am - 11.30am GMT

Key stakeholders and contributors to the Sport for Development Coalition’s ‘collective action’ will come together to review progress and set priorities at its ‘Spotlight on 2022’ Forum on Friday 28th January (1000-1130).

More than one third of the Coalition’s 200-plus member organisations are currently actively involved in its governance through participation or support for the Coalition Board, sub-committees, and working or advisory groups.

The Forum will provide an opportunity to reflect on the last 12 months, and set the Coalition’s priorities for 2022, as well as enhancing connectivity across the ‘movement’. The event is open to multiple representatives from organisations and would be enhanced by people with different roles and responsibilities in the sector taking part.

Contributors

The Coalition is a growing network of more than 200 VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) groups, networks and sports bodies over-arching thousands of projects and programmes intentionally using sport to generate positive social outcomes across the UK.

The Spotlight on 2022 Forum will bring together contributors to the Coalition’s groups and activities, ranging from its Impact Working Group and Shared Measurement Initiative, to stakeholders across and beyond the network participating in its policy priority initiatives.

Collectively these initiatives underpin the Coalition’s strategic aim of realising the potential of sport as a ‘team player’ in levelling up communities, and building back better from Covid-19, as outlined at its recent CEO Forum. The policy priorities are:

  • Improved health and wellbeing
  • Closing the gap in educational attainment
  • Increased employability and skills
  • Reduced crime and anti-social behaviour
  • Stronger communities and social cohesion
  • Mainstreamed across all areas: Tackling inequalities, and the contribution of sport for development to climate action and environmental sustainability
