The WASH Challenge Cup

streetfootballworld and affiliate member WASH United are jointly organising the WASH Challenge Cup in 2015. The series of events will promote the importance of sanitation and hygiene with the help of Africa’s love for football.

The WASH Challenge Cup will take place in parallel to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and will use the excitement surrounding the event to raise awareness of sanitation and hygiene.

It will kick off long-term efforts by WASH United and streetfootballworld to harness the power of football as a means of raising awareness around WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) issues and to promote life-saving WASH behaviour change across Africa.

Participants will learn about WASH skills in various games and labs, football tournaments and training, and cultural entertainment programmes.

The events will be hosted by streetfootballworld network organisations in Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda.
