It's LGBT History Month in February, and Bradford is celebrating with a full 28-days of films, panels, social events, parties and more.

The festival is focusing heavily on football this year, with an exhibition, talks and a celebrity football match planned.

Bradford City is a famously LGBT-friendly club, but the game as a whole is still working hard to combat homophobia, and the support of professionals within the sport is incredibly important.

We'd like to invite you to a very special screening of Wonderkid at 6pm on the 1 February at the National Media Museum, and we very much hope you can join us.

About the film

Wonderkid is a short film by Rhys Chapman, which tackles one of football’s biggest issues – homophobia.

Featuring Martin Tyler, Alan Smith and Geoff Shreeves, the film depicts the inner turmoil of a gay professional footballer.

Broadcast on SKY SPORTS 1 HD, the film is part of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the lack of openly gay professionals in the sport.

In partnership with Bradford Council, Just a Ball Game? & Bradford City of Film. There will be a reception prior to the screening and Q&A with Director Rhys Chapman following the film.
