Chief Executive - Centre for Sport and Human Rights

The Centre for Sport and Human Rights is hiring a Chief Executive to work in Geneva. Deadline: 12 October 2018

Sport has the power to be a uniting force for good in society. By harnessing this power and acting collectively, the diversity of actors involved in the world of sport have the potential to deliver concrete impacts for those affected by sport and beyond sport.

Launched in June 2018, the Centre for Sport and Human Rights brings together an unprecedented alliance of intergovernmental organisations, governments, sports bodies, athletes, hosts, sponsors, broadcasters, civil society representatives, trade unions, employers and their associations, and national human rights institutions.

The Centre works towards a world of sport that fully respects human rights by sharing knowledge, building capacity, and strengthening the accountability of all actors through collective action.

The Centre is looking to appoint a new Chief Executive to spearhead the development of this newly established organisation, ensuring its successful transition from an interim structure to a fully independent entity by 2020. The new Chief Executive will be working at the forefront of the sport and human rights agenda, driving change in the world of sport and in the delivery of mega-sporting events.

The Chief Executive will be an outstanding leader with a record of achievement gained in the worlds of sports, business or civil society. With exceptional vision, a track record of self-reliance, strong management and growth, he/she will have the ability to inspire and influence a wealth of audiences, and will bring a passion for the global human rights agenda.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an ambitious, dynamic and complex organisation, working with a unique alliance of stakeholders to deliver real change for the most vulnerable and galvanise the positive power of sport.

The closing date will be Friday 12 October 2018.
