Communications & Social Media Coordinator, International Table Tennis Federation

ITTF is seeking a Communications & Social Media Coordinator to be based in Leipzig, Germany. Deadline 1 March 2020.

Location: The position will be based in Leipzig, Germany. Applicants should be willing to move to Leipzig and work as required rather than regular office hours, due to the nature of the work required for the job. 

Manager: The Communications & Social Media Coordinator will report to the Marketing Manager based in Leipzig.

Main Responsibility: 

  • Writing articles for the ITTF Foundation’s website, social media channels, documentations and reports, proofreading articles, written by other staff members
  • Populate the ITTF Foundation’s English-language social media channels with high-quality, engaging and innovative content in order to drive further growth of the ITTF Foundation’s international digital fanbase
  • Source content and post to ITTF Foundation’s English-language social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
  • Analyse performance of social media posts as a way of developing an effective, open-minded digital strategy
  •  Ensure that the ITTF Foundation’s social media channels support and extend the ITTF Foundation’s marketing goals
  •  coordinates graphics, photography and video footage, ensuring images and animations are archived for easy retrieval
  • Draft and set up internal and customer mailings and newsletters and eMailings

Knowledge

The Communications & Social Media Coordinator must have proficient knowledge in the following areas: 

  • Story development and writing for publications, social media channels and reports
  • Current knowledge of industry trends and best practices in communications
  • Knowledgeable in and proficient using social media tools for communications, such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Familiar with design concepts and corresponding computer programs (Adobe Illustrator, etc.)   
  • Knowledge of video editing is an asset
  • Experience within the work of NGOs and / or Non-Profit-Organisations is an asset

The Communications & Social Media Coordinator must demonstrate the following skills:

  • Understanding of media and corporate relations, and digital media strategies
  • Outstanding command of the English language (written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Time management skills and the ability to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to deal effectively with rapid changes; possess a proactive, positive attitude and flexibility in working in a fast-paced environment anticipating the future communication needs of the organization
  • Highly developed written, verbal, editing and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in an international, culturally diverse environment
