The International Olympic Committee is looking for a Research and Advocacy Coordinator to coordinate and support the successful delivery of the Olympism365 Research, Evaluation and Learning Strategy.

As a Research and Advocacy Coordinator, you will coordinate and support the successful delivery of the Olympism365 Research, Evaluation and Learning Strategy to generate evidence on the contribution of sport and social change, and Olympism in society, to the SDGs.

Main responsibilities

Research and Learning

Coordinate the roll-out of Olympism365’s Research, Evaluation and Learning Strategy, including: 

  • Liaise with evaluation partners and stakeholders to ensure that relevant information, stories, and data are available to support evaluation processes. 
  • Support the development of a suite of learning products including ‘lessons learned logs’ and ‘after-action reflections’ that inform the ongoing adaptation of Olympism365 programmes and portfolios. 
  • Coordinate the organisation of dynamic and engaging learning events/meetings and other mechanisms to share relevant lessons learned and insights with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ensure relevant learnings and insights are available in support of IOC public affairs and global advocacy teams and functions. 
  • Collaborate closely with the IOC communication teams and functions, ensuring that relevant learnings and insights are available in support of storytelling, and other communications and digital engagement products.

Advocacy 

  • Input into briefings, key messaging, presentations and other adhoc resources to support the dissemination and amplification of the Olympism365 approach and impact, including at internal and external meetings, and in support of IOC public affairs strategy and IOC communications platforms. 
  • To this end, and in close collaboration with IOC Public Affairs and the Olympic Studies Centre, monitor the wider sport and development agenda, and environment in which Olympism365 operates and the processes it seeks to influence.  
  • Manage the Olympism365 editorial calendar and identify key opportunities to share and amplify Olympism365 programmes, partnerships, and research and advocacy products with target audiences.  

Coordination 

  • Organise the timely and effective dissemination of correspondence, technical and administrative information to internal IOC departments and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the delivery of Olympism365 research and learning events and related meetings, including preparatory communication, logistical and event support, and maintaining and disseminating accurate records of proceedings.

Our requirements

  • University degree in political sciences, international relations, social sciences or a related field (Masters, bachelor’s degree, federal diploma, etc.). 
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English. Working knowledge of Spanish and/or French is an 
  • 3-5 years of experience in a research, advocacy or a related role (within the world of sports for development would be a plus). 
  • Strong writing and editing skills and experience of producing a wide range of communications, such as reports, case studies, journal articles and learning resources.
  • Comprehensive research, interpretation and critical analysis skills.
  • Good knowledge of the Olympic Movement, the United Nations System, the NGO / sport for development sector. 
  • Proven record of producing accurate and high-quality work to tight deadlines.
