The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is looking for a World Para Sports Classification Project Senior Manager (f/m/x) to join their multicultural team at the IPC Headquarters in Bonn, Germany.

The World Para Sport Classification Project Senior Manager is accountable to the Managing Director of World Para Sports and will be responsible for developing and managing the World Para Sports classification portfolio with the emphasis on developing structures and knowledge for the sports to independently lead on their classification portfolios.

Core responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the classification operational plan and activities for World Para Sports and strategically plan the activities for Paralympic Games cycles
  • Develop and manage the World Para Sports classification portfolio with an emphasis on developing structures and knowledge that enables sports to independently lead on their respective classification portfolios
  • Report to the Governance & Strategy Lead, and provide support in developing plans for World Para Sports to achieve independence from the IPC
  • Review the existing or create new classification advisory groups and provide strategic direction on their activities
  • Be a support mechanism to World Para Sports’ classifiers
  • Supervise classification rules review, classifier education, and reporting on the IPC Athlete Classification Code Compliance for World Para Sports
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, officials and volunteers, National Paralympic Committees, National Federations, sport technical and advisory committees, organising committees and IPC departments

Desired requirements include: 

  • Ideally 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in an International or National Sport Federation
  • Experience working in Para sport
