Kids Play International is looking for a Program Coordinator based out of Siem Reap to facilitate their sport programs in Cambodia. Deadline: 15 February 2022.

Kids Play International is seeking a Cambodia Field Based Let’s Play Fair Program Coordinator (LPF PC) who recognizes and understands how sport can promote gender equity and create social change. This is also someone who is excited and inspired to work in a rural village helping to empower both girls and boys through sport to challenge harmful gender stereotypes which can create a more equitable society.

Kids Play's LPF PC should ideally be someone who has lived or travelled abroad, played/enjoys/understands how sport can be used as a tool to promote social change, is an advocate for equality between girls and boys and has excellent organizational, writing and communication and presentation skills. Candidates should be interested and committed to working in a local rural village outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The overall responsibilities will include; facilitating our Let’s Play Fair gender equity and sport curriculum (frisbee, lacrosse, softball, track/field, etc) for our Cambodian youth year round, facilitating our Play Fair Community Day programs targeted at youth and adults in the community, facilitating our Play Fair Workshop to local partners (coaches/teachers, etc.), planning and executing special events/camps throughout the year, leading coach capacity trainings, assisting in coach and youth professional development trainings, networking with local partners, executing required activities within awarded grants, building deeper impact with our partner schools and parents, observing and collecting data on all programs, help organize volunteer trip itineraries/activities, writing reports and managing social media content and newsletters.

Primary duties and responsibilities

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications/competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 4 years working experience at an international level with humanitarian NGOs or operational UN agencies OR 2 years of field experience in challenging environments
  • Proven experience in project management, including budget expenditure, data collection, report writing, and staff management
  • Preferable experience and strong interest in the areas of sport for development, gender equity, women’s empowerment, and public health
  • Ability to empower, mentor and train local staff Fluency in written and spoken English
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Political and cultural sensitivity, including ability to adapt well to local cultures
  • Proven ability to function well in a lower-resourced environment
  • Strong liaison and communication skills
  • Innovative and creative thinking
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

Compensation

  • Dependent on experience; range $1500-$1800 USD monthly consulting fee
  • Includes housing stipend
  • KPI related expenses; internet, phone, transportation
  • Visa costs
