Kids Play International is looking for a Program Director based in North America who is interested in using sport for gender equality and mental health awareness. Deadline: 21 February 2022.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Program Director with a passion and deep understanding for using sport as a tool to promote gender equality and mental health wellness in developing countries. The PD will supervise, analyze and provide strategic direction and recommendations for long term program development over a wide range of programs that operate in Rwanda and Cambodia. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and overall success of each program.

You will supervise country directors, and program coordinators and inform leadership on progress and performance. A successful Program Director must be a self-starter, who can work independently, is flexible to work in different time zones (after hours) and has a broad knowledge of program management principles in developing countries. They must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead and develop staff. The goal is to ensure every program will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to the organization.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of 3+ years as Program Director or other managerial position

  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods

  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize time, tasks and meet deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate most pertinent programming information to the Executive Director

  • Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills

  • Excellent report writing skills - grant writing experience is a plus

  • Direct communicator, strong verbal communication skills

  • Qualitative and quantitative project/program evaluation planning (design) experience

  • Experience implementing, evaluating, and reporting on activities outlined in awarded grants

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant work experience or 6 years of relevant work experience required without a degree; Master's degree in relevant field is a plus

Compensation

$40,000-$45,000 - Commensurate with experience
