Project officer in sport and human rights

The Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation (VIDC) / fairplay Initiative are seeking a full-time project officer to begin 1 September.

About fairplay

fairplay, the initiative for diversity and antidiscrimination at the Vienna Institute for International Dialogue and Cooperation (VIDC), is an awareness raising campaign in the field of sport. Collectively with clubs, associations, fan clubs, migrant groups and youth organisations, the initiative develops and implements measures against discrimination (racism, homophobia and sexism) and those promoting diversity and human rights in sport. It also acts as an interface for mediation and networking for emancipatory and participatory initiatives and as an advisory centre and competence centre for antidiscrimination, development and social inclusion in sport.


  • Coordination of two nationwide projects in the area of sport and human rights (project administration, reporting, budget oversight)
  • Networking, communication and organisation of meetings with project partners and stakeholders (including moderation and documentation)
  • Implementation of campaigning and awareness raising with different stakeholders (e.g. sport organisations, NGOs and the public sector)
  • Advocacy work
  • Public relations work in the area of sport, human rights and social development (website, newsletter, production of brochures, compiling opinions)
  • Assisting with applications to public authorities and sponsors
