Skateistan is looking for an experienced educator with a creative flair and a passion for working with youth living in challenging circumstances to join our team.

Skateistan is looking for an experienced educator with a creative flair and a passion for working with youth living in challenging circumstances to join our team. The successful candidate is creative, flexible and an excellent communicator. They will inspire our international team of Educators to develop innovative, ground-breaking educational curriculum that will change the lives of thousands of youth annually.

This is an annual contract position for an initial period of 12 months, with possibility for renewal, and will be based at Skateistan project sites (Cambodia, South Africa, with limited travel to Afghanistan).

 

Position Core Responsibilities

The Programs Manager (PM) will focus on developing and overseeing the organisation’s educational and sport programmes. The PM makes use of innovative curriculum development, instruction methods and assessment tools to improve the consistency and quality of the Skate and Create, Back to School and Youth Leadership programmes. The PM works closely with and provides direct support to the Programs Director on programmes implementation. The PM also works closely with the local Programs Officers in Afghanistan, South Africa and Cambodia to implement programmes and carry out the organisation’s annual projects, mission and vision. The position’s key focus areas are curriculum development and Educator training.

The Programs Manager is a paid position beginning 01 January 2017 and includes monthly salary and benefits (paid vacation, medical insurance, work related flights, visa fees).
