Our international team consists of 30 passionate people who dedicate their exceptional talent and skills to social change on a global level. We are looking for a Regional Manager to join our team in Berlin.

Job Summary

The Regional Manager supports our team in the development of the streetfootballworld network in the Middle East.

She/he will lead the implementation of projects in the region starting with the development of concepts together with our partner organisations to the evaluation and reporting of project results and finances according to funding guidelines and streetfootballworld’s M&E standards. 

The position will be located in our office in Berlin and requires regular stays in the region.

streetfootballworld is a global NGO that harnesses the power of football to tackle some of thegreatest social challenges of our time. The organisation’s work supports an international network ofover 100 grassroots organisations that use football as a tool to address deep-rooted communityissues, ranging from refugee integration in Ireland to gender equality in Kenya. Collectively, thenetwork empowers more than one million disadvantaged young people per year.

Main Responsibilities

  • You lead the implementation of projects and programmes together with our partner organisations in the Middle East.
  • You drive the development of the streetfootballworld network in the region by engaging with organisations in the field and evaluating potential new members.
  • You establish close links with the network organisations, supporting their development and increasing exchange among members and with the head office in Berlin.
  • You are responsible for the establishment of project deliverables and the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of project implementation.
  • You coordinate all project-related reporting processes to our government partners, foundations, and institutional donors like the EU.
  • You support in the conceptualisation and acquisition of projects to be implemented in the Middle East region.
Key Requirements
  • You have a university degree in a related field of studies (e.g. International Development, Social Sciences, or similar)
  • You have a minimum of two years professional experience working in the field of social development (e.g. in health, education, community development, gender equity, inclusion, advocacy). Field experience in the Middle East, with experience in the field of sports for development, is desirable
  • You have strong project management skills and ideally experience in managing government funded projects
  • You are fluent in German and English (both required) and have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Your knowledge of Arabic is a big plus
  • You possess a high level of intercultural communication skills and cross-cultural competence.
  • You are proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • You have the ability to structure and carry out your workload independently
  • You are an open-minded team player who likes to think cross-departmental and work together with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • You identify strongly with our cause
  • You are willing and able to travel regularly within the Middle East
