Two internship opportunities with KPI

Kids Play International is seeking a Special Event and Operations Management Intern and Social Media and Marketing Intern. Deadline: 10 March 2019

(1) 2019 Social Media and Marketing Internship

Duration: At least one month in country to gain an understanding of programme and capture footage for deliverables. In country time must include the dates 14 June - 30 June. Deliverables can be completed in or out of country depending on the interns preference, but must be completed by the end of August.

Reports to: In-Country Program Coordinators- Sarah Strong and Chiara Solitario

Your media marketing internship will be an opportunity for you to use your skills and knowledge with videography, content creation, photography, social media and other marketing tools.

During your internship you will (but not limited to):

  • Create short videos that showcase our coaches and players stories
  • Create promo videos on our programmes including: All Girls United, Jr. Coaches, Community Day, Olympic Day and  Let's Play Fair Program
  • Create a databank of photos, quotes and clips for us to use on our social media
  • Manage our social media outlets
  • Help document KPI Program traditions, songs, chants, keelos, etc.
  • Create/update KPI Player Bios
  • Write blog posts about your experiences

Qualifications:

  • Professional writing and communication skills
  • Creative thinking and the ability to provide input
  • Advanced knowledge of social media tools
  • Knowledge of email campaign management tools preferred but not required
  • Photography and other media skills
  • Ability to create promotional videos
  • Excellent organisational, project management and problem-solving skills to juggle multiple responsibilities at once and consistently meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Interests in the field of technology/marketing/social media

(2) Special Event and Operations Management Intern

Duration: Approximately three months between 15 May - 15 August 2019 (Flexible start/end date)

Reports to: In-Country Program Coordinators- Sarah Strong and Chiara Solitario

Your service learning internship will be built around the needs of KPI at the time of your internship. An internship with KPI is a special opportunity to be a leader, mentor, coach and evaluator.

One of your main duties will be assisting and coordinating our Olympic Day Event in June. This event will have over 500 people in attendance potentially including donors, Olympic Ambassadors, KPI players and coaches. Additionally, during your internship you will work alongside our in-country Program Coordinators and be actively involved with interacting and helping assist with our All Girls United, Youth Leaders in Development, KPI Alumni, and Let’s Play Fair programs and assisting with general day to day operations.

Qualifications:

  • Sport and Coaching knowledge/experience preferred
  • Possess a background in fitness, education, gender studies, sport science, public health, international relations/studies, sport management, recreation and leisure or any related degree/field
  • Strong work ethic, organisational skills, and leadership capabilities
  • Must be patient and willing to work with participants and coaches with low English levels
  • Experience in an underdeveloped/developing country with a high level of adaptability and open-mindedness
  • Experience working with youth preferred
