Journal of Sport for Development (JSFD) is seeking a Layout Editor. Deadline for expression of interests : 25 April 2018.

The Journal of Sport for Development (JSFD) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. JSFD’s mission is to advance, examine and disseminate evidence and best practices for programmes and interventions that use sport to promote development, health and/or peace. 
 
JSFD seeks original submissions from researchers and implementers, including experts and young researchers in public health, education, gender equity, disability, youth development, economics and conflict. All articles must be submitted online and undergo a rigorous peer review process. All JSFD articles and volumes are made freely available online to the public.  
 
The JSFD Editorial Board is seeking expressions of interest for a new Layout Editor, to commence in May 2018 for a two-year term. We welcome applications from all interested and suitably qualified parties. Expressions of interest should be received by 25 April 2018.  
 
The layout editor is responsible for preparing the final, copy-edited manuscript for publication on the JSFD website. Key skills required include:

  • Experience and expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience and expertise in Adobe Acrobat PDF software
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience in undertaking sport for development research and a current or completed PhD is not essential but highly desirable

As with all positions at JSFD, the Layout Editor is a voluntary role. The time commitment for this role is expected to be approximately 2-6 hours per month. This position will work closely with the copy editor and managing editor of JSFD.
