Yunus Sports Hub: Communications & Social Media Manager

Yunus Sports Hub is looking for an experienced communications and social media manager to join their team!

Yunus Sports Hub (YSH) is the global social business network creating local solutions in and through sport. As the sport arm of the 2006 Peace Nobel Laureate Professor Yunus, our role is to:

  • Promote the concept of social business in the sport sector,
  • Help all sport related organizations to implement social business programs
  • Equip & support a community of sport social business entrepreneurs

Among our many solutions, we focus on the empowerment of the next generation of empathetic leaders, through the design, development and delivery of youth centric leadership and social business programmes.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) in collaboration with their Worldwide Olympic Partner Panasonic has designed the IOC Young Leaders Programme, a youth leadership and social change through sport programme designed to empower young talents to leverage the power of sport to make a positive difference in their communities. As the delivery partner of the IOC Young Leaders Programme, the YSH team supports the IOC to deliver the programme under the turn-key model, by putting the expertise of its team member at the service of the programme.

YSH is looking for an experienced Communications & Social Media Manager, to take the lead on creating, revising, implementing and overseeing the Communications & Social Media related activities.

The selected manager will share his/her/their time between 2 “scopes”:

  • 50% working on the YSH Communications
  • 50% working on the IOC YL Programme Communications, as part of the YSH team


The Communications & Social Media Manager (or “CSM”) will be responsible, for both YSH and IOC Young Leaders Programme scopes:

Strategy and creative review (with the support of YSH and IOC team):

  • Defining, together with YSH and IOC teams, the Communications & Social Media strategic goals & KPIs for both scopes
  • Building, together with YSH and IOC team and aligned with predefined strategy, a content plan and calendar including campaigns & activation ideas (included but not limited to: base content, specific campaigns, newsletter, website reviews, blog, speaking engagement for YSH team members and IOC Young Leaders, events)
  • Evaluating and adjusting the strategy on a bi-yearly basis

Communications and Social Media Management

  • Producing all elements (included but not limited to articles, social media captions, social media graphic creation) and approving them with the relevant team members
  • Disseminating all elements of the content plan according to the agreed calendar, while also identifying relevant ad-hoc opportunities
  • Performing the social media watch / development: engage, repost, like, comment, ...
  • Serving as the social media, communication and branding helpdesk for YSH team members, the IOC Young Leaders programme team and the IOC Young Leaders
  • Implementing the agreed tracking and reporting
  • Updating the websites as required

Engagement & Events

  • Designing the communications around speaking engagements and events and when necessary, supporting the respective speakers or experts
  • Coordinating engagements with event organizers and speakers

Qualifications & Skills


  • At least 5 years of experience in a communications / social media / marketing role
  • Must be a clear and confident communicator, comfortable in multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent command of English with French being an asset
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, content creation skills are essential, including an ability to present concepts verbally and visually
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Knowledge of and strong interest in the Olympic movement
  • Knowledge of sport for development, sport and social business
  • Strong interest in world trends and global issues with ability to put daily news in context of sport and social business
  • Capable of working well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Effective multitasker and capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects with different deadlines
  • Attitude: flexible, creative, outspoken, willing to learn, capable to constructively bring up or challenge ideas, doesn’t mind tight deadlines nor working in ambiguous situations, comfortable with predominantly virtual contact with the team


The Communications & Social Media Manager will:

  • Be working full time with YSH
  • Work remotely according to CET time

For the IOC Young Leaders Programme Scope:

  • Report to the YSH Programme Manager
  • Work closely with the IOC Senior Programme Manager and IOC teams as relevant

For the YSH scope

  • Report and work closely with YSH Co-Founder & Managing Director
