Twenty men’s and women’s national Australian Football League teams, including five from across the Pacific, are heading home after immersing themselves in the contest and the collegiality of the AFL International Cup.

Many of the players involved have been discovered and developed via the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Pacific Sports Partnerships.

In this Australia Plus video, that is also being shared widely on other ABC platforms, we get a front row seat for the history-making moment Papua New Guinea goes back-to-back with a thrilling one-point win over New Zealand at the MCG. We also catch a glimpse of the women’s competition and men’s Division 2.
