Gallery: Fielding for the future - Cricket's PNG mission
Cricket has long been a part of the Papua New Guinean sporting landscape, but a determined push to introduce the game into provincial areas has seen it blossom in new places with a new generation.
In this Australia Plus photo feature we visit Omili Primary School in Lae, PNG, with the Australian Aid-supported Cricket PNG Development team. We hear from Omili Primary School Sports Co-ordinator Malinda Tau-Marupi and Morobe Cricket Co-Ordinator Nigel Topai about the successes and challenges of the programme at a school with 2800 children. The piece features photos of children participating in the clinic, Nigel and Malinda.
