This video gallery provides an insight into Japan Day in Nairobi, Kenya - an event that shared Japanese culture and celebrated shared values through sport.

For the first time since 1964, the summer Olympic and Paralympic games are returning to Japan. Touted as the most innovative mega sporting event in history, it will build on three core concepts; unity of diversity, striving for your personal best and passing on legacy for the future, something that the Tokyo 2020 logo has illustrated in 45 different-sized rectangles.

To exemplify diversity, the Embassy of Japan in Kenya teamed up with National Museum of Kenya to hold the inaugural Japan Day. Graced by cabinet secretary for sports, ambassador Amina Mohammed and her counterpart, Japanese ambassador to Kenya H.E. Horie Ryoichi, attendees witnessed demonstrations of handball, judo and table tennis. Food, culture and fashion activities were also showcased in a day that culminated with an ultra quiz testing participants on their knowledge about Olympic and Japanese culture.
