Ensemble 2018, organised by St. Lawrence High School, (Kolkata, India) celebrated the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on 6 April.

More than 2000 students, teachers, staff, Jesuit Fathers, alumni and guests in Kolkata took part by showing their White Cards as a symbol of peace and togetherness through sports. 

‘Ensemble 2018’ introduced ‘CHESS ‘n’ MATE’ online International School Chess Tournament with a mission of peace and cross-cultural exchange amongs children around the globe.

In parallel to the chess tournament, the children who played against each other teamed up to write a ‘peace through sport’ message of maximum 30 words. The top five messages will have special prizes from Olympians.

The inaugural exhibition online match was played between Russian GM Alexandra Kosteniuk (from Paris) and Indian GM Dibyendu Barua at St. Lawrence High School. 

Post match both players displayed their White Cards.
