After two decades of living and volunteering in various countries of Africa - from Sudan to South Africa - I have finally found my 'calling' with the communities of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area. I am currently a MRes candidate at the University of Brighton; Sport and International Development.
Johanna Van der Hulst
I grew up on a small farm in the Netherlands and started my international teaching career at the American School of Paris and the Washington International School. After pursuing graduate studies at both Springfield College and Smith College, I coached softball and taught briefly in the Physical Education Department at Oberlin College before becoming the Head of the Physical Education and Wellness Department at the American School of London. I am interested in the character and group building power of sports and empowering girls and women through physical activity. Social justice and sports anthropolgy are personal passions.
