The True Athlete Project is looking for a part-time fundraising manager to work remotely to create and implement a fundraising strategy for the organisation. Deadline: 16 July.

The Opportunity

The True Athlete Project (TAP) designs and delivers a range of holistic, mindfulness-based programmes designed to unleash sport’s powerful potential to positively impact humanity and the world. We work with athletes and coaches of all levels - from grassroots to the most elite.

You will become part of a team of Olympians & Paralympians, clinical and sport psychologists, and sport-for-change pioneers. You will make a vital contribution to the sustainability of our unique organisation. You will become part of a team which aims to embody its mindful approach to sport and making a difference in the world.

You will be supported by our new fundraising and communications committee - comprising four leading professionals in the field - who will help you to “hit the ground running” in order to meet our short-term targets while we simultaneously develop a longer term strategy.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Generate revenue by developing and executing a coherent and ambitious fundraising, sales and communications strategy with our CEO and with our fundraising and communications committee.
  • Develop imaginative and practical ideas.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress and report regularly to the CEO.

Fundraising

  • Concurrently develop a funding and supporter pipeline as well as executing “quick-wins”.
  • Explore a wide variety of fundraising sources and activities, such as corporate support, brand sponsors, legacies, etc.
  • Source and write grant applications.
  • Lead activities ranging from event fundraisers and crowdfunders to media campaigns.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, particularly donors and prospective donors.
  • Manage a database of donors.
  • Be responsible for ensuring fundraising activities comply with all necessary regulations (GDPR, Charity Commission etc).

Sales & Communications

  • Create demand through a targeted plan for each of our products and services, utilising our assets and channels.
  • Recruit, manage and develop supporters and volunteers to achieve agreed targets.
  • Raise awareness of our organisation through effective messaging.
  • Other partnership building and administrative duties as required.

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent at building rapport and cultivating relationships.
  • Proven successful professional experience of designing, coordinating and executing fundraising campaigns.
  • Proven successful professional experience of bringing in funds.
  • Good understanding of the sporting sector.
  • Good understanding of mindfulness practices.
  • Must have both a can-do attitude and an exemplary eye for detail.
  • Comfortable using Canva or similar, Google Workspace, and social media.
  • Appreciative of the meaning of our brand, the full context of our project, and the importance of embodying the approach we espouse through our work.
  • Growth mind-set and an attitude of ownership over the result.

Salary and Benefits

  • £28,000 pro-rata (16 hours per week)
  • Remote, flexible working
  • Nest Pension (3% employer contribution)
  • 11.2 days per year paid annual leave
  • Potential for increased number of hours in the future
