UNESCO is looking for a data intern to assist with various initiatives in their sport programme. Deadline: 10 September.

Within UNESCO’s Sport Education team, the intern will contribute to the following:

Quality Physical Education (QPE) project:

  • Assist with the data processing, translation and analysis of the data collected during the QPE global survey and the COVID-19 data top-up survey
  • Provide support in the organization of the QPE and COVID-19 data top-up survey young leaders focus group which will take place online in October 2021
  • Assist with the preparations for UNESCO’s Global Status Report on QPE
  • Provide support undertaking desk research, preparing briefings, undertake mappings of existing initiatives and potential partners

Fit for Life (FfL) flagship initiative:

  • Provide support in the design and development of a global baseline study measuring the impacts of integrated policy and programmes in sport, education and health
  • Assist with a mapping of global experts to be engaged in an expert advisory group supporting the development of global standards on integrated praxis in sport, education and health
  • Input to the development of data-specific partnerships
  • Support the development of FfL concept notes, partnership agreements and related documentation via desk research and with the full support of senior team members

The intern shall also assist with the drafting of section correspondence, in translation tasks (i.e outreach materials into French and/or Spanish) and any other task related to the implementation of one of the above-mentioned work streams.

Required criteria:

  • Excellent English and very good French or Spanish (knowledge of Arabic, Chinese or Russian would be an asset)
  • Excellent knowledge of quantitative methods and data analysis tools
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office pack, particularly Excel
  • Good organization skills, autonomy & teamwork
