UNESCO is looking for an intern to assist with their sports-based programmes. Deadline: 20 March.

Within UNESCO’s Sport team, the intern will contribute to the following:

Quality Physical Education (QPE) project:

  • Assist with the preparation of documentation, communications and presentations for the next QPE Steering Committee meeting that will take place in spring 2022
  • Input to the development of a communications strategy for the QPE publications
  • Assist with the preparations for UNESCO’s Global Status Report on QPE
  • Assist in the development of materials distilling the QPE data for public and private sector audiences
  • Provide support drafting web articles, speeches, briefings and correspondence.

Fit for Life (FfL) flagship initiative:

  • Provide support in the development of flagship advocacy tools including PowerPoint presentations, two-pagers, briefings including data visualizations and insights
  • Assist in the organization of and communications related to the “Fit for Life: Powering Gender+Equality” side event which will take place in the framework of the 66th CSW
  • Input to the development of Fit for Life partnerships and national implementation strategies
  • Support the roll out of Fit for Life’s international implementation framework, particularly where it relates to coordination, advocacy and communications
  • Assist with the development, coordination and mapping of a knowledge network comprised of global experts engaged in an advisory capacity to develop and implement the scoping study and baseline study
  • Assist in the organization of online events and webinars related to FfL with institutional partners and field networks
  • Support the launch of Fit for Life networks, including the knowledge network, youth networks and other champions
  • Support the development of FfL concept notes, partnership proposals and related documentation with the full support of senior team members

The intern shall also assist with the drafting of section correspondence, update of key facts and figures, translation of emerging data into insights, and any other task related to the implementation of one of the above-mentioned work streams.

Required criteria:

  • Excellent drafting skills in English
  • Good knowledge of French
  • Qualification and/or interest in Sport for Development
  • Good organization skills, autonomy & teamwork
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Detail-oriented
