Formally incorporated in October 2016 ,We are a grassroots Community Based Organisation using football to promote participatory development among children and youth in Nairobi.
We originally started in 2014 undertaking one off activities on various thematic issues rangingbfrom violence prevention to environmental conservation.
In 2016, we officially registered by the government to operate legally.our flagship program is Soma Hela ,a financial literacy programme that seeks to introduce children and youth to the concept of money so that they make wise financial decisions.through the football themed toolkit, participants get to learn in a fun and challenging environment .the emphasis is not to teach football but rather use football as a bridge between theory and practice.
Footworks program is the official football development effort which attempts to promote application of modern football management practoces at the grassroots. Rather than building talent,we seek to work with existing clubs and encourage them to adopt components that support the growth of football.
Making football a clean sport
On 17th of June, Inuka Direct yet again teamed up with Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) to deliver a Value Based Education event. This time young players from Dagoretti and Eastlands were the beneficiaries of the education that was aimed to teach not only about doping but inculcating positive life values vital to enable them fight one of the most disturbing vices affecting different sporting disciplines. The participants were able to articulate the short fun games that taught them values such as teamwork, honesty, accountability, sharing among other morals.
To conclude the occasion, Inuka Direct demonstrated a football drill that taught the participants on the dangers of doping. Dagoretti Former Players Welfare Organization hosted the event at the BP grounds, Nairobi.
