Started in 1987 as a small self-help project to organize sports and environmental clean-ups within Mathare slum in Nairobi, the organization has grown from a small youth group to an internationally renowned youth serving organization that promotes sports for development.
The Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) is a community development organization that uses sports to engender broad socio-economic development, while also effecting positive social change.
