The Naz Foundation (India) Trust's Biography
Naz India's Young People's Initiative is a sport for development programme that empowers adolescent girls through sport. It uses netball, life skills education and girls and young women's leadership as a tool to create agents of change.

The Naz Foundation (India) Trust has been working in the thematic areas Gender, Health and Rights since 1994. The vision of Naz is to create a just and equitable society by transforming individuals from socially and economically excluded communities into agents of change.

The Young People’s Initiative (YPI) is Naz India's girls and young women’s empowerment program that works in urban communities, offering weekly sessions to adolescent girls who are subsisting on a low family income. The program provides safe places to play netball, impart life skills and educate adolescent girls on topics including sexual reproductive health and rights, gender, gender based violence etc. By the end of 2018, Naz India had reached out to more than 75,000 adolescents. Another 15,000 young  people have been reached through partnerships with local grassroot organisations in semi urban and rural communities in Tamil Nadu and Punjab.
