Sport 4 Development
Sport 4 Development
Sport 4 Development e.V. was founded in 2016 with the aim to promote sport as a tool for development in Germany and around the globe. We are a group of young and energetic people that all have practical and academic experience in the field of sport-for-development. By founding the NGO we aimed to build a platform to fully exert and bunch our potentials and engagement.
Our mission is to use sport as an instrument for positive societal and personal change. In that regard we are implementing projects in the field of education, sport and social work on the local and international level. We are always looking for potential partner that share our vision to make the world a better and more equal place through sport. Therefore, we are looking for project collaborations in the field of sport-for-development (SFD). Our main purpose as an international partner could be operating in the field of funding, monitoring & evluation, capacity development, recruitment of volunteers/interns, etc.
Currently we are running projects in Germany and Ghana. Moreover, the kick-off for a new project in Uganda will be happening in the near future.
We want to expand so feel free to contact us if you have any project ideas, if you want to collaborate with us or if you want to share other information.
Our main target at the moment is to use sport as a tool for development in regard to social inclusion. More precisely, we want to use sport to impact a positive change in regard to the personal development and the personal and societal perception of disability. In addition, life-skill, awareness-raising and educational programs shall be carried out in the participating schools or other community partners and stakeholders of potential project partners.
We want to improve the social life and life within the community through sport. However, education should also raise awareness for disabilities in the society. These measures are supposed to help the young adults and children to have a Positive Youth Development (PYD). Moreover, with the Mixed Ability Model (MAM) we want to promote social inclusion, education and advocacy through an innovative promotion of interaction of people with disability in a mainstream sport setting together with people without disability.
We do not want to force any project proposal on potential partners of ours but rather want to work towards a participatory approach. However, as for now MAM has been our main focus and expertise though we have also worked in other SFD project fields with different social focusses. Before collaborating, we would like to know if you would be interested in the MAM in regard to a potential SFD project. However, if you don’t have any interest, expertise or potential partners this would not influence a potential collaboration in a negative way. We can surely find other focusses of a potential SFD project.
