Jigoro Kano Memorial International Sport Institute's Biography
Research on the Olympic Movement; Olympic Education; Anti-Doping activity; global outreach programme of sport; promotion of Prof. Kano's philosophy of "Seiryoku Zenyo (the use of energy to maximum efficiency)" and "Jita Kyoei (an attention to the mutual prosperity for oneself and others)".

The Institute was inaugurated on the 27th of May 1909, exactly 100 years after Prof. Jigoro Kano became the first Asian IOC member, in order to commemorate the Japanese engagement with the Olympic Movement and to begin building a 21st century legacy.
