I was born in Oakland, California and raised near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I attended Walden III Alternative High School in Racine WI, and majored in History and Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. I've been working with youth since 2003 at a number of different organizations. I've worked extensively with Elementary, Middle School, and Secondary school youth. I am now finishing my fourth year of National Service: 2 years in Americorps in La Crosse Wisconsin and 2 years in Peace Corps. I love baseball and sports in general, and I'm planning on returning to school for my Masters in International Sport Development.
I am postgraduate in Gender and Development,Social Work and Human Rights with about 12 years of work experience in the field of social development. I have worked in the areas of Education, Gender disability , HIV/AIDS, Community development. Presently I am doing the National Documentation of best practices for the International Inspiration programme in India for UNICEF.
Graduate of the Institute of Professional Studies, (IPS) Legon Ghana, and specialising in accounting. Before that, studied at Ghana Secondary School, Tamale in the Northern region form 1979-1981 for the sixth form education. Also did five years of secondary education at Wenchi Methodist School in the Brong Ahafo region, from 1974-1979.
Bachelors (Bed) Degree in Physical and Health Education Masters of Science (Msc) in Sports Science, Leisure and Recreation Studies (Kenyatta University). Currently Head of Sports Department Strathmore University. Other jobs include Secretary General Kenya Universities Sports Association, Representative in the East Africa Universities Sports Federation and CAF Physical Fitness instructor. I'm hoping to pursue my Phd studies in sports. I have presented a paper on physical fitness at the 2nd World Sports Congress in Sparta, Greece.
Paul leads the A Ganar youth employment through sport program that now operates in 14 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has worked in youth development and leadership development in the Americas for over 25 years in various roles with the Peace Corps and with Partners of the Americas. He is the former Peace Corps Deputy Director in Nicaragua, Associate Director in Honduras and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala. He has been active in team sports for years both as a player and as a volunteer coach. Paul is a native of Sparta, Tennessee, and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He and his wife, Gabriela Teeple, have one son, Lewis Felipe. Most weekends, you'll find them somewhere in South Carolina on a soccer field.
