I have been involved in sport in many different ways over a number of years. Firstly through a university undergraduate degree in Sports Studies I completed in Scotland. Next I moved onto coaching soccer in both the UK and the US. I became interested in the power of soccer and so spent some time in Kenya with sport for social development organisations. I am about to undertake an MBA course in England in International Sports Management to improve my knowledge.
In Nairobi, Kenya I met with Vijana Amani Pamoja who introduced me to the organisation and its programs. I was able to learn about the way they relate to children in the local community on vital topics such as HIV awareness and corruption. This led me to Coaches Across Continents who run similar programs all across Africa. I then volunteered for them for 2 months around Kenya where we delivered programs for many local coaches covering topics from conflict resolution to female empowerment.
