Having spent most of my career working within the Anglican Church, including six years as the Archbishop of Canterbury's Secretary for worldwide issues, I became Director of BUILD, a consortium of mainly UK based organisations promoting international community links and partnerships. In September 2012, I left BUILD to pursue my current project building partnerships between UK professional football clubs and communities in the Global South. I began my career in the British Diplomatic Service.
See above.... Given the universal popularity of football, and the high profile of the UK professional game around the world, I am engaging Football League clubs, and a number of Premier League Clubs, through their Community Trusts, to look at extending the work they are doing in local communities to an appropriate partner community in the Global South. This has the potential to involve other sports too, and the wider communities within which football clubs are located.
