David is managing and overseeing the Doc Wayne operation while exploring ways to broaden the organizations reach to more youth on a national and global scale. In his career of over 20 years in the business and non-profit sectors, he has specialized in developing new business, building partner relationships, while sharpening organizational outreach.
David is a former college soccer player that has been deeply involved in sports-based youth development since 2008. He is also the founder of Playing It Forward, Inc., a non-profit that provides sports equipment to thousands of disadvantaged children around the world. Under David's leadership, Doc Wayne was named the 2015 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Sports Award winner as an Influential Leader and Model For Others Making Communities Healthier Through Sport. In 2014, he was selected as a Social Innovator by Root Cause's Social Innovation Forum in the category of Breaking Down Barriers To Effective Mental Health Services. The organization was also selected as the 2014 Innovator of the Year for the Providers' Council. In 2015 he was selected as a Carmax 'Bright Side of Game Day' Community Hero and in 2012 he was the Major League Soccer (MLS W.O.R.K.S.) New England Community MVP. David has a BS from Babson College and an MBA from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University.
