I have been involved in the sport and development field for over 5 years now
Soon after 2010 FIFA World cup , i have extensively immersed myself in sports for development activites in different capacities. Volunteer efforts ranging from health ,peace building and environmental conservation, has enabled me to interact with different stakeholders in a field that is still finding its footing in the Great Lakes and Eastern Africa region.
While taking cognisance that sports in itself is an empty shell, i have lent myself in nurturing footballl talent at the grassroots , where i have imparted technical and tactical skills through community football sessions.
Additionally , my intentions have gone beyond the football pitch to mobilizing grassroots football officials to engage with sports professionals drawn from sports science and medicine. Thanks to Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) ,team officials and young players in Nairobi have benefited from Anti-doping education as well as Value based Education events respectively in efforts geared towards encouraging clean sports right from the lower echelons of Kenyan football.Sports psychology ,sports nutrition, sports injuries and sports law are some of other sessions which i have organized.
As at now , i regularly publish articles on Sports for Development giving my viewpoints which i hope will be able to influence crucial policy decisions.Lets connect on LinkedIn
