I've been involved with football for development since about 1997, with Millennium Stars FC in Liberia. I've organised visits to and from UK for youth. I worked on a plan to bring global football to my home town Consett. I wrote a Masters dissertation about Globalization, Football and Peace-building in Liberia. See attached document Kicking Around in Liberia. I'm now working on the biography of community team, Millennium Stars. A 40-min film, made as a teaser for the book, is on YouTube.

I was born four months after England won the World Cup, some of my earliest memories are of Brazil in 1970; also my first replica kit. As a Newcastle fan, disappointment has been a close companion, but I've managed to work for about 25 years in media, education and development. I have been to nine African countries, but know Liberia best. I work for a school feeding charity in Liberia. I did an MA in International Politics, with my dissertation on Millennium Stars FC in Liberia.
