Ibrahim Dabo
I’m a keynote speaker on a mission to inspire students and young people to take every misfortune and turn it into an opportunity.
I take my personal experiences as a victim of war, the challenges and opportunities that came with being a journalist at the age of 17, and my struggles with bullying and a hearing-impaired diagnosis as fuel to show students that your obstacles don’t define you. What matters is how you overcome them. And I do this by talking about the importance of mindfulness, leadership, and most importantly, purpose.
I am also interested in how we can use sport as a tool to foster hope.
Career leadership highlights include:
- Commissioner for the Georgia Commission for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing, appointed in 2022 by Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia, USA.
- Board Member, Hearing Loss Association of America
- IT Director for a global nonprofit organization impacting lives in more than 115 countries.
- Former Africa Editor Goal.com, a leading international soccer website.
