My research focuses on women and sport, particularly: leadership, governance, activism, and esports. My doctorate charted the origins, development and outcomes of global organisational advocacy for women and sport. Since then, I have published with colleagues about the issues, challenges and opportunities for women sport leaders. I was an expert consultant on global research projects for the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) from 2012-2014 & 2014-2018 and have co-led funded research into gender and leadership at the international level by UK Sport (2020-21; 2022). From 2011-2021, I was the executive officer of the Anita White Foundation (AWF). Since 2014, I have been central to the coordination, development and organising of the Women’s Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA - www.wsla.co.uk). I lead a range of modules at the University of Chichester covering social issues in sport, sport policy, sport development, sport management, and esports.
