Lombe Mwambwa
I am the International Adviser to the National Organisation for Women in Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (NOWSPAR) and the Anita White Foundation (AWF). Over the last 15 years, I have been involved in the sport for development sector in roles including community engagement, monitoring, advocacy, board service, and resource mobilisation.
I work on issues of inequality and development in Zambia and internationally. I am interested in understanding inequalities within sport and in sport as a means of addressing inequalities in society. My research, advocacy, and practice is focused on themes of safeguarding and protection in sport and on leadership within sport organisations. My doctoral research at the University of Chichester focused on the experiences of women leaders within sport organisations in the African Union Sports Council Region 5. I support teaching and learning at the University of Zambia on the Master of Physical Education and Sport programme in the School of Education.
