Led declaration sessions at 1999 and 2005 World Summits on Physical Education, as Vice President (Education) of ICSSPE. President of International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women 1997-2005; now Honorary Life Member. Researcher and advocate for equity in physical education, recreation and sport. Worked with Commonwealth Secretariat &to improve women's opportunities. Appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire for services to physical education.
Currently leading team of experts to develop new curriculum for physical education for Egypt. Consultancies have included work on national sport policy in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, as well as UK; and presentations in 30 countries. Long relationships with people working to advance women's and girls' opportunities in and through sport, in Muslim countries and among Muslim communities.
ICSSPE Presidency includes working with member organisations with primary concern for sport as development.
