I love sports. Athletics and soccer are my favourite. I run a kids soccer club, established in 2012, in Kisumu, Kenya, called Athletic Zaji FC.
The football club is keen on helping kids embrace a sporting lifestyle and develop their soccer talent aiming to grace the elite of soccer world. The clubs main focus is on kids aged 15 years and below. The plan is to nurture a top breed of soccer players who will be ushered into senior soccer as a ready band of stars.
To help develop soccer in the community, I also manage Technique, Knowledge and Skill (TECKNOS), a talent, arts and sports development entity which aims to run development leagues for kids in the community.
Tecknos Development League already hosted a peace tournament, as its inaugural activity in 2017, in partnership with a local NGO (FACES), local businesses including Jubilee Jumbo, KCP quarries, Skylar parts, Galley motors and The Kisumu County Government. That was a great experience that brought together 8 kids' soccer teams, which played for a month, to crown Winam FC as the champion.
TDLeague will continue seeking partnerships and opportunities to grow soccer in Kenya and beyond, and nurture the clubs under its wing to produce technique savvy and highly skilled soccer players.
