After a first degree in Economics at the University of Freiburg (Switzerland), Rolf Schwery went on to do an MA at the University of Manchester, UK and a PhD in Sociology at the Russian Academy of Science. During his studies in Russia he also worked as a consultant for the World Bank, the Russian Federation’s Chamber of Commerce and for F. Hoffmann-La Roche.
From 1999 Rolf Schwery worked for the Swiss Academy for Development (SAD) which he headed from 2001 to 2006.
2007 he became a social entrepreneur (sole proprietorship) supporting international organizations and companies to develop a comprehensive CSR strategy. Rolf Schwery has project management experience in various countries, with special focus on Eastern Europe. He speaks fluent German, English, Russian, and French.
