#GoodGovernanceSport: International conference and call for abstracts

The international conference #GoodGovernanceSport will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria on 22 May 2020.

The #GoodGovernanceSport project aims to find the way of analysing, collecting and promoting the practices for proper visibility of the decisions taken, decision making stakeholders, transparency of public funding in sport organisations. The project is organised by the international partnership consortium of “Good governance in sport” project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.

Scholars and other experts from all walks of life and sport activities are invited to share their expertise, good practices, and pursue knowledge transfer at the International Conference on Good Governance in Sport on 22 May 2020. The presenters will offer insight and exchange ideas in the form of presentations, workshops and roundtable discussions with trainers, educators, researchers, business partners and decision makers at all levels. The fascinating meeting venue in Sofia offers multiple advantages and comfortable location for a successful event. Following the conference, a publication opportunity (with ISBN code) is offered for the presenters in English language.

Call for abstracts

Abstracts for 20 minute English language presentations should be submitted by 1 February 2020 to with subject reference: “GGS Conference” in your email. Please also indicate in your abstract with its letter code, which of the below topics in particular meets the focus of your proposed presentation of 20 minutes. Early expressions of interest are appreciated. Proposals should include:

1.     the author’s full name, institutional affiliation and email address

2.     the title of the presentation

3.     which one of the below main topic areas are you to address in particular?

4.     an abstract of 300-500 words, summarising the paper’s scope and conclusions

5.     a brief bio of the author(s) of maximum 400 words

B.    Good practices in sport and physical activity in Europe regarding good governance

C.    Integrity of sport

D.    Transparency in leadership

E.    Innovative, fair and development-focussed management

F.     Innovative postgraduate education for sport experts

G.    Current trends in sport and physical activity
