5-5.30pm: refreshments and networking opportunities

 

5.30-6.15pm: making a difference off the pitch the social and community contribution of sport in Manchester

6.30-7.15pm: renaming greater Manchester’s football stadia – a fans’ perspective

A presentation of recent research on fans' reactions to the corporate renaming of football stadia in Manchester, Bolton and Oldham.  The research findings, along with implications for sponsors and venue owners will be presented by Leah Gillooly from the university of Manchester and Dominic Medway from Manchester metropolitan university.  This will be followed by time for questions from the audience.

 

7.30-8.15pm: the economic and commercial contribution of sport to Manchester, the region, Britain and beyond
