#Morethanfootball Action Weeks kick off

European clubs, leagues and FAs join forces to raise awareness of the social power of football.

The European Football for Development Network (EFDN) will host the biggest campaign for Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) in football from 15 September until 11 October 2020. The Action Weeks aim to showcase the impact of CSR initiatives implemented by European football clubs, leagues, FAs and their foundations.

These participating institutions raise awareness about the transformative power of the work they do on and off the pitch on a local, national and international levels through their football for development projects. To promote the campaign and the More than Football Award powered by Musco Lighting, a promotional video has been launched featuring players, coaches, staff and participants from community programmes from clubs like SL Benfica, Feyenoord and FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

The More Than Football Award is an element of the Action Weeks and was introduced by EFDN to honour the best social initiatives in Europe delivered by a European club, league or FA and increase the visibility of the positive impact football has on society. It was first awarded at the 13th EFDN Conference held at the Camp Nou in Barcelona in 2019 to Shakhtar Social’s “Come On, Let’s Play!”.

This year EFDN is teaming up with Musco Lighting to promote the social power of football with the latter coming on board as the naming rights partner for the 2020 and 2021 More than Football Award.

The winner of the 2020 More than Football Award powered by Musco Lighting will not only receive recognition for having implemented the most innovative and impactful Community and Social Responsibility programme in European football, but they will also win a mini-pitch. The fully branded mini-pitch will be developed in partnership among the winning organisation, EFDN and Musco.
