The Commonwealth is advertising an excellent opportunity for an Adviser Sport for Development and Peace to work in our Economic, Youth and Sustainable Development Directorate. The Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) Section focuses on strengthening national and international policy, including its alignment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), building the capacity of policy stakeholders and officials as well as improving monitoring and evaluation of the contribution of sport and physical activity to these non-sport objectives.

The post holder will be responsible for leading the delivery of the sport and physical activity-related outcomes of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s strategic plan, while also contributing to the organisation’s wider social policy work programme. The post holder will oversee the delivery of all sport and physical activity-related projects, with a focus on national policy development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation, lead the Commonwealth Secretariat’s thought leadership, analysis and policy guidance on sport and sustainable development and manage key external relationships with member Governments, the UN system, Commonwealth Sports Movement and wider sport and physical activity stakeholders.
