About Us

streetfootballworld is a global NGO that harnesses the power of football to tackle some of the greatest social challenges of our time. The organisation’s work supports an international network of over 120 grassroots organisations that use football as a tool to address deep-rooted community issues, ranging from refugee integration in Ireland to gender equality in Kenya. Collectively, the network empowers more than one million disadvantaged young people per year.

 

Job Summary

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of an Erasmus+ grant for the development and dissemination of football3 (www.football3.info) across Europe. With a focus on fair play, equality and teamwork, football3 empowers young people with the skills they need to flourish off the pitch. The Project Manager will be responsible for the development of a train the trainers toolkit and monitoring and evaluation framework to supplement existing football3 resources. This process will be conducted in partnership with football for good organisations across Europe, who will contribute their expertise and test the materials developed over the two year project period. The Project Manager will conduct football3 trainings, organise football3 festivals and complete all necessary documentation and reporting of the project. The part-time position will be located in our office in Berlin with regular trips to partner organisations.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • You lead the implementation of an Erasmus+ grant for the development and dissemination of football3 in Europe. This includes the establishment of project deliverables, the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of project implementation and the completion of all relevant reporting processes to our partners.
  • You establish close links with partner organisations in Europe and beyond that use football3, coordinating their contribution to the development of the methodology.
  • You drive the development of football3 by coordinating the creation of further educational materials and a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework for the methodology.
  • Based on these materials, you will design and then implement a dissemination plan to expand and strengthen the use of football3 globally.
  • You organise football3 trainings and festivals/tournaments to further support the promotion and dissemination of the methodology.
  • You support in the conceptualisation and acquisition of future football3 projects.

 

Key Requirements

  • You have a university degree in a related field of studies (e.g. International Development, Social Sciences, Sports Sciences or similar).
  • You have a minimum of two years professional experience working in the field of social development (e.g. in health, education, community development, gender equity, inclusion, advocacy).
  • Your ‘on the ground’ experience in and passion for sports for development and in particular football3 is a significant benefit.
  • You have strong project management skills and experience in managing government funded projects and in event implementation.
  • You have experience in the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and data collection tools.
  • You have experience in the creation of training manuals and in the facilitation of trainings.
  • You are fluent in German and English and have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Your knowledge of additional languages (particularly Spanish) is a big plus.
  • You possess a high level of intercultural communication skills and cross-cultural competence.
  • You are proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • You have the ability to structure and carry out your workload independently.
  • You are an open-minded team player who likes to think cross-departmental and work together with people from different cultural backgrounds.
  • You identify strongly with our cause.
  • You are willing and able to travel regularly.
