PeacePlayers International (PPI) was founded in 2001 on the premise that “children who play together can learn to live together.” In its twelve years of operations, PPI has reached more than 60,000 participants and trained more than 800 youth leaders.

Through a groundbreaking peacebuilding-and-leadership development curriculum, PeacePlayers International uses basketball to bring children together and teach them proven tactics for improving their communities. PeacePlayers International currently operates year-round programs in South Africa, Northern Ireland, Israel and the West Bank, and Cyprus.

International Fellows work as part of a dynamic team of local and international staff to achieve programmatic and organizational goals, such as bridging divides and empowering youth through basketball. The fellow's main role is to facilitate and support the operation of basketball and educational activities in local communities. This includes supporting local coaches at weekly practices, coordinating and leading “twinnings,” helping to lead peace education sessions, delivering basketball, leadership and educational clinics and activities, and various administrative duties.
